  • 2019-2020 Retentiveness Books

    Hey Cougars!

    Well, information technology's finally here - our terminate of the year project!!!

    Equally some of you may know and remember - I like to make Retention Books as an end of the yr projection with my students!

    Supplies Needed -

    • one sheet of rectangular paper (estimator paper is fine, and so is bigger construction paper, OR fifty-fifty a affiche size folio...white or light color is recommended and so yous can meet your words and drawings better...)
    • pair of scissors
    • pencil/pens
    • coloring supplies - markers, crayons, colored pencils, gel pens, etc. (optional)

    We fold the booklets out of one canvass of paper and fill up them out however you lot would similar co-ordinate to what You lot want to remember near the schoolhouse twelvemonth...

    Female parent's Twenty-four hour period is THIS Dominicus, May 10, 2020!!!

    Normally nosotros'd exist finishing upward our Mother's Day projects, just since we can't be together, I idea I'd put upwards some fun card making lessons for this week.

    It's Sculpture Week with Ms. White!!!

    Only don't worry if you don't accept Play-Dough or modeling clay at home - I'thousand sending you a recipe for how to brand Homemade Salt Dough that volition harden!!!

    Hello Cobb Cougars and Parents!!!

    I hope anybody had a very fun, rubber, and HAPPY EASTER!!!

    My daughter had fun hunting for eggs in our house (haha, we are still missing 2!)

    All in all, it'due south been a very fulfilling holiday weekend at the White House (my house!)

    I know that some of you lot may be getting tired of being at home and non beingness able to go out and see your friends.  This Coronavirus pandemic has been a hard adjustment for most of the entire world, and I'chiliad proud of everyone for doing your part to be strong and brand the necessary changes to continue you and your family unit prophylactic!

    The 2d thing I wanted to share with you this week is a COVID-19 Mental Wellness Contest. YOU Do NOT Have TO PARTICIPATE! I just wanted to laissez passer this along for anyone wanting a competitive art challenge...I would Honey to come across your entry, if you lot do participate, of course!!!

     Did you know the month of May is Mental wellness awareness month? Well, it is, and CSBH (The Center for School Behavioral Health at MHA of Greater Houston) is offereing y'all an opportunity to enter an art contest to help raise awareness virtually the importance of protecting childrens mental wellness!

    The art will be featured in an on-line gallery on Mental Wellness America of Greater Houston'due south Facebook Page. Prizes will be awarded to winning artwork.

    This week's additional resources are going to be about drawing!!!

    I'chiliad listing a week'south worth of drawing exercises also as a 25 Twenty-four hour period Drawing Challenge!

    You DO NOT have to exercise everything I've listed. I just wanted to requite y'all equally many drawing ideas as possible...

    Too, just for fun - if y'all go to YouTube (with your parent/guardian permission, of form) - and type in " Easy How to Depict _____ (type in whatever you want to learn how to draw) - you will most likely observe a video that will help y'all acquire how to pace-by-step depict almost anything you tin think of!!!

    You can too type "step past step drawing ____ (whatever yous want to draw) on Google (click Images tab), and it will accept the impress out version, rather than video.

    One Week Art Challenge!

    Rules: Endeavor to check off everything on the list. Y'all don't have to do it all at once, instead just exercise a little each day at your ain pace. You can become in whatever order that y'all wish and you may utilize any materials available to you- even if they're not traditional Art materials. It's okay to make mistakes, the of import thing is that y'all are creating something!

    𝥁  Imaginary pet: What if you could continue an imaginary animal such every bit a dragon or unicorn as a pet? Describe or sculpt you and your imaginary pet doing something together such every bit going for a walk or playing outside.

    This week we are going to focus on Color Theory!!!

         * How do colors mix together to create other colors???

         * What are the Primary Colors?

         * What are the Secondary Colors?

         * What is a Color Wheel and How practice I make ane?

    I've listed 3 YouTube Links below to help you answer these questions...too every bit a fun Science/Art Experiment you tin do at home!

    If you do not take internet admission right at present, I've also attached copies of art textbook pages to help you learn more about colors.

    Feel free to practice any of the suggested projects in the volume, or listed below.

You lot will need: vii clear cups or jars, food coloring, and 4 paper towels

    *After you picket these videos, y'all can create your own color cycle using whatever supplies yous have at habitation...or you can just play with colour mixing and create your own masterpiece!

    Ideas:  Paper plates, notebook paper, figurer paper, crayons, markers, paint, (if y'all don't have any of these - y'all can make paint using a small amount of water and a few drops of food coloring -Ask parents for assist with this, or at least tell them your plan earlier making your own paint!!!  If yous don't have paint brushes, you lot can use Q-tips or cotton fiber balls)
